Rising

How ironic, that this post comes out right around the street-release of Abyss Rising, which is sure to be one of the most influental booster sets released in recent times. However, that's not what this post is about (although I will be uploading a card-by-card review at a later date). This post is a brief sharing of my purpose in this blog.
You'll no doubt have noticed that the URL of this blog is "www.myyugiohresume.blogspot.com." This encapsulates what this is meant to be. This is my writing resume. I've wanted to start a Yu-Gi-Oh blog for some time, for one main reason: I have a dream.
I have a dream that one day, I will be able to live off of the thing that I enjoy the most, which is writing. If I could write about this beautiful, dynamic game, and still be able to provide for a family, then I would indeed be greatly blessed. Merely voicing my thoughts on a website such as this is a blessing, regardless. As with many dreams, this is one that I believe is worth fighting for. Moreover, there are certain steps I need to take on my road to realize this dream. This is the first step. Kevin Tewart, one of the people I look up to, has stated that writing Yu-Gi-Oh based articles is a huge step towards getting on the Yu-Gi-Oh article team. Coming from the head honcho, those aren't idle words to me. So I'm taking a chance and starting this blog, because I want a byline on this website someday. The next step will be providing consistent, interesting, informative content. That's coming soon - maybe even today. There are other, more vague steps, such as improving the general quality of my writing, adding to my knowledge of the game, and becoming a better, friendlier person all-around. Those things come with time, practice, and patience. All of this is so that one day, I can apply for a job and - beyond all hopes and dreams - see that I've been accepted.
Thank you for inspiring me, Kevin.
